The legislation that bans minors from using indoor tanning beds comes into effect today.
The province promised the change over a year ago in the Throne Speech.
Before, anyone under the age of 18 had to have parental consent.
Tanning salon’s are also now required to post warning signs, provide customers with protective eye-wear and are forbidden to advertise to children.
The Canadian Cancer society has been pushing provinces to make the change for years, saying tanning bed are known to cause skin cancer.
