Shane Doan scored twice and broke the Arizona Coyotes franchise career goal record in a 4-2 win over the Winnipeg Jets Thursday night.
Adam Lowry opened the scoring for the Jets early in the first period. Doan answered back for the Coyotes minutes later.
After a scoreless second period, the game was tied at 1 heading into the final twenty minutes.
Viktor Tikhonov got one past Jets goalie Conner Hellebuyck to make it 2-1. Lowry got his second of the night midway through the third, but Winnipeg’s scoring would end there.
Oliver Ekman-Larsson scored on a power play and that was followed by an empty netter by Doan, which marked his 381st career goal.
It took Doan 1,422 games to surpass Hall of Farmer Dale Hawerchuk for the franchise career goal record.
Winnipeg outshot the Coyotes 37-21.
