Manitoba’s women’s curling championship is coming back to Winnipeg for the first time since 2002.
The 2017 Manitoba Scotties Tournament of Hearts will be hosted at the Charleswood Curling Club and played at the Eric Coy Arena.
“We are pleased to have received Charleswood’s letter of intent indicating they are committed to hosting the Manitoba women’s curling championship in 2017,” said CurlManitoba executive director Craig Baker in a media release. “There are many details to work out as we finalize the hosting agreement but the first big step has been taken.”
It’s the first time in 15 years that the provincial women’s curling championship will be hosted in Winnipeg. Last time the tournament was held at the St. James Civic Centre.
This year’s Manitoba Scotties will be held in Beausejour on January 19-24.
