If your car started this morning, you are among the lucky ones.
It’s all hands on deck at CAA Manitoba as they deal with a huge spike in calls for dead batteries.
Spokesperson Liz Kulyk tells 680 CJOB wait times right now are sometime between two and four hours.
“We are about 50 per cent busier than we were yesterday. Monday’s tend to be busier so we expected 1,500 service calls to come through.”
Kulyk says they had about 1,000 calls on Sunday, making it the busiest day of the winter so far, but with more people on the road today heading to work, it’s no surprise that they have hand their hands full.
“We have been able to manage the load just by having every single driver possible, plus other staff who are trained on how to help people boost their trucks and cars, they’re out on the road as well.”
Kulyk recommends going online or using their app if you want to get ahead in line for service.
