Winnipeg Police is requesting your help in confirming the identity of a deceased man.
He was taken to hospital early this month and passed away. Police say it’s not a criminal investigation but they haven’t been able to identify him and notify next of kin.
The man, who is believed to have immigrated from Jamaica in the 1970s, was in his 70s, roughly 5’4″, 109 pounds with black short curly hair and unshaven. Police believe he may have been known as Ron Foster and/or Edgar Brown.
He was living at a residence on Selkirk Avenue here in Winnipeg and has also lived on Ellice Avenue and Furby Street in the past. Since moving to Canada, it is believed he has spent most of his time in this city. He also may have family here as well as Toronto and Jamaica.
Police believe he was a self-employed handyman for many years in Winnipeg. If any of this rings a bell to you, police want you to call the Missing Persons Unit at (204) 986-4510.
