Former Conservative MP Steven Fletcher is shifting his focus to provincial politics.
Fletcher is officially running for the Tories in the riding of Assiniboia in the April 19th election.
After mulling it over with family, Fletcher accepted the nomination at a meeting Wednesday night.
That seat is currently held by NDP MLA Jim Rondeau, who has announced his retirement.
Fletcher served as MP for the riding of Charleswood-St. James-Assiniboia from 2004 until this past fall, when he was unseated by Liberal Doug Eyolfson.
