Three people who were terrorized and beaten for three hours in a Transcona home invasion have now been arrested.
Winnipeg Police say on January 4th two men allegedley forced their way into the home on Lou Peltier Crescent.
The men, aged 18 and 20, assaulted three people inside, two women and a man, for three hours. They then fled with a stolen vehicle and a large amount of illegal drugs. The pair were arrested a couple days later.
But now, police say they have arrested the victims for drug related offences.
The man remains in custody, while the two women have been released on a promise to appear.
They face the following offences:
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Produce a Scheduled Substance (Cocaine)
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking -Methamphetamine
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cannabis (Marihuana)
Officers suspect the incident is drug and gang related.
This is the same home where three people were badly hurt in a drive by shooting in 2011.
