The province is celebrating the life of Howard Pawley Saturday.
A ceremony is taking place for the former Premier at 2:00pm at the Manitoba Legislature.
Pawley died last month.
He served as premier from 1981-1988 and was known as a lifetime champion for equality, social justice and public service. He was also attorney general and followed Saskatchewan’s lead to give Manitoba Canada’s second government-run auto insurance system.
Pawley was 81-years-old.
