Kerri Einarson stole 3 in the 9th end to beat Kristy McDonald 7-4 in the final of the Manitoba Scotties in Beausejour.
To get to the final draw, Einarson first had to get past Shannon Birchard in the semi-final. Einerson took that one 8-3 to set a up a rematch with McDonald who won their Saturday meeting 7-5.
The win is a long time coming for the East St. Paul curler. She was appearing in her third straight final at the Manitoba Scotties, losing the last two attempts.
With the victory Einarson becomes Manitoba’s representative at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts February 20 to 28 in Grand Prairie, Alberta.
Winnipeg’s Jennifer Jones will also be competing as the defending champion.
