Homeowners in the River East Transcona school division may have to pay about $60 more in education taxes this year.
In its draft budget, the division is proposing a 3.8 per cent increase. That’s $58 on a $272,500 home.
The division says the reason for the increase includes increased wages, school repairs and maintenance and the number of students who need extra supports.
Seven Oaks School Division is proposing at $45 increase for the average homeowner.
Winnipeg School Division is working on a draft budget with a $64 increase as a starting point.
