What appeared to be a golden opportunity for Milos Raonic, 3 sets into his Australian Open Men’s Semifinal Match with Andy Murray, turned into a tough finish. After going in front 6-4, 5-7, 7-6, Raonic lost the 4th and 5th sets, 6-4 and 6-2. Raonic was clearly bothered by an upper right leg injury that required treatment midway through the 4th set- right about the time Murray began to take control.
So the wait continues for the first Canadian Male to reach a Grand Slam Singles Final. And it will be Murray meeting #1 seed Novak Djokovic in the Men’s Final at 230 a.m. our time on Sunday Morning.
Tennis Canada does have a chance to leave Australia with a title as Daniel Nestor and partner Radek Stepanek play Andy Murray’s brother Jamie, and Bruno Soares in the Men’s Doubles Final in the wee hours of Saturday morning.
