Manitoba’s Abby Ackland and her team from the Fort Rouge Curling Club have been knocked out of the Canadian Junior Women’s Championship in Stratford, Ontario.
Manitoba was forced to play New Brunswick in a tiebreaker to earn a spot in the semifinal. The match was tied going into the final end but Justine Comeau’s rink scored two in the tenth to seal a 7-5 win.
New Brunswick will now play British Columbia with the winner to take on Nova Scotia for the title.
Manitoba still has hope on the men’s side as Matt Dunstone’s rink will take on British Columbia in the semifinal tonight at 6 p.m. The winner will take on Northern Ontario Sunday afternoon.
