A Winnipeg Transit driver has been charged with assaulting a passenger.
Police say the 51-year-old female driver started a physical confrontation with a 17-year-old girl.
They say it broke out after the two had been in an argument on the bus.
This allegedly happened yesterday morning near the corner of Sargent Avenue and Valour Road, in the West End.
It comes as the transit drivers’ union complained about drivers being the ones who keep facing abuse and assaults
Police have agreed to put some officers on buses to help maintain order.
The operator is facing counts of public mischief and assault for her alleged involvement.
She was released on a promise to appear.
