The Winnipeg Jets were well aware the Boston Bruins were going to be looking to respond to an ugly 9-2 home loss to the LA Kings when the teams met Thursday night. But the Jets own struggles at home continued with a 6-2 loss to the Bruins. Winnipeg is now 2-8 in their last 10 games in the “not so friendly confines” of their home rink.
Patrice Bergeron opened the scoring early in the first period and the Bruins would never trail throughout the game. fter two periods the Jets were only down by a goal, but they couldn’t stop Boston in final frame, as the visitors added three more goals.
Bryan Little and Nikolaj Ehlers scored for Winnipeg while Connor Hellebuyck started in goal for the Jets, but was replaced by Michael Hutchinson after allowing 3 first period goals on 11 shots. Hutchinson made 25 saves in his 40 minutes of relief. Tuukka Rask made 34 saves for Boston, who were coming off a 9-2 home loss to Los Angeles on Tuesday.
The 24-27-3 Jets now start a four game road trip on Saturday in Edmonton.
