If you live in southwest Winnipeg, you may be paying about $100 more in school taxes.
The Pembina Trails School Division is proposing a tax increase of 4.8 per cent, or $100 on the average home worth almost $400,000.
The draft budget is about $5.7 million more than last year’s budget.
The division says it’s expecting 344 more students next school year.
A new school in South Pointe, more teachers and student transportation are some other reasons for the budget increase.

Other Division Proposing Tax Increases
Winnipeg School Division is proposing a 5 per cent increase, or $62 for the average homeowner.
River East Transcona is proposing a 3.8 per cent increase, or $58 for the average homeowner.
Seven Oaks School Division is proposing a $45 increase for the average homeowner.
