Around 200 people showed up at Gateway Community Centre on Tuesday to help search for clues in the disappearance of a Winnipeg teenager who has been missing since early Sunday morning.
It was the second day of searching for Cooper Nemeth, 17, after friends and family went door to door with fliers in the Kildonan and Elmwood neighbourhoods on Monday.
“You always hear after a certain amount of time it’s pretty grim,” Nemeth’s aunt Laresa Sayles told reporters while fighting back tears.
“We’re trying to stay positive about stuff and we are not going to lose hope or faith.”
The grade 12 student at River East Collegiate did not return home after going to a house party Saturday night. Family member say he left a party after midnight with 22 year old man and may have been dropped off at another party in the area.
Sayles said the man is known to Winnipeg Police, but was question extensively. Investigators have not said if this matter has any criminality.
We are ever so blessed & thankful to those who came out today, who have been sharing on social media & those who sent prayers. #findcip

Sayles also confirmed that her nephew has recently been diagnosed with ADHD and is dealing with anxiety and depression.
“I don’t want people to look at him differently because of that label and it’s difficult for a teenager who is going through a lot of changes,” Sayles said.
“I’m worried for his health now because he’s been missing and hasn’t had his medication. I don’t know if he’s having seizures or in a coma. Thinking about that is absolutely horrifying.
Sayles adds Cooper’s parents are to upset to talk to the media and his 9 year old sister is distraught.
Winnipeg police say they have been able to track Nemeth’s phone up until 10:34 p.m. Sunday.
“We’ve received tips, we’ve received information and we remain optimistic,” Const. Jason Michalyshen told Winnipeg’s Morning News.
“The ultimate goal of identifying where he is, we haven’t met that goal yet so efforts continue.”
Nemeth is described a Caucasian male, 6’0 tall, 170 pounds, average build with short brown hair and brown eyes.
He was last seen wearing black jacket with a River East Marauders hockey logo on the front, black pants, and brown skater runners.
