A robbery at a North End grocery store Thursday morning has put one man in hospital and another behind bars.
It happened at around 9:30 a.m. near Selkirk Avenue and Salter Street.
Winnipeg Police say a man entered the store and demanded cash and cigarettes, but his getaway was stopped by a pair of employees.
One employee was stabbed in the upper body and rushed to hospital in critical condition. He has since been upgraded to stable.
The 18 year old suspect was held until police officers arrived and was taken into custody.
The man faces a long list of charges and remains in custody including: robbery and aggravated assault.
