Alexandra Anderson scored the winning goal at 4:31 of sudden death. Dramatic, yes, but not to the extent of a week ago when Manitoba had to go into a 5th overtime period to get past the U of Saskatchewan Huskies in Game Three of the Quarterfinals.
Venla Hovi, the OT hero last Sunday in Saskatoon, also scored for the Bisons along with Kayleigh Wiens, and Karissa Kirkup.
The U of M will meet UBC in Vancouver in next weekend’s conference final after the Thunderbirds edged Regina 3-2 in the third and deciding game of that semifinal.
