It’s a complex with a lot of problems. But the builder says it shouldn’t be ordered to fix them.
City inspections done on a large complex in Richmond West have found a number of defects in more than 50 suites.
They include problems with dryer venting, attic insulation, weather stripping and smoke alarms.
A & S Homes built the complex at 99 Keslar Road. It was all finished around 2010. The final inspections weren’t done until 2015.
The city has now ordered A & S to fix the problems right away, or face penalties.
An appeal letter from the builder’s lawyer says the city shouldn’t be able to make that order as so much time passed before the inspection.
The appeal will be heard Friday.
