Manitoba’s Treaty Commissioner will soon be out of a job.
Jamie Wilson was appointed by the Harper government six years ago, but has been told his contract is not going to be renewed.
Wilson tells 680 CJOB the job has helped him build relationships between business and First Nations communities.
“When I first started, I was given advice actually by a Senator. He said, ‘You know you’re in a job where you can probably not do very much and get away with it, or, you could find something you’re really passionate about and make a huge difference,” says Wilson.
His latest two year term ends March 31st.
