It’s not the colour Matt Dunstone wanted to be taking home from the World Junior Curling Championships, but it’s better than nothing.
He led Team Canada to a bronze medal with an 8-4 win over Switzerland, his first win in three tries against the Swiss this week. He was knocked into the bronze medal match because he lost to Switzerland in the 3 v 4 page playoff game.
It’s the second bronze medal at the World Juniors for Dunstone, who also came third in the 2013 tournament.
On the women’s side Nova Scotia’s Mary Fay guided Canada to a gold medal with a 7-4 win over the USA. It’s the third straight year Canada has won gold after Kelsey Rocque won the last two years.
