The Winnipeg Jets dealt a serious blow to their Western Conference rival’s playoff hopes with a 5-2 rout of the Vancouver Canucks.
Marko Dano scored twice while Tyler Myers, Mark Scheifele and Alexander Burmistrov added singles as the Jets won for the second straight time. Scheifele also extended his point streak to 8 games while Michael Hutchinson made 26 saves in the win.
Vancouver came in needing a win as they sat 8 points back of a final playoff spot. The Jets also lead the season series 2-0 and have outscored Vancouver 9-3 in the process.
Winnipeg takes Tuesday off before ending a two-game road trip in Western Canada on Wednesday against Calgary.
