A provincial court judge is in big trouble after he was charged for driving drunk.
Judge Michel Chartier has been charged with driving while impaired with a blood-alcohol level above .08.
He was charged by Carberry RCMP Sunday and released on a promise to appear in a Brandon courtroom March 24.
As a result of the charges, Chartier has been placed on administrative leave.
In 2014, Chartier made headlines when he did not sentence a chronic alcoholic to prison time after he slammed into a motorcycle while driving with a blood-alcohol limit nearly five times the legal limit. Instead, Navdeep Sooch was given probation with intensive therapy.
