Ten men have been arrested for their involvement in the sex trade as part of the Winnipeg Police Service’s Project CREATE.
From March 7-11, the Counter Exploitation Unit (CEU) along with Community Support members arrested ten men between the ages of 21-57 for obtaining sexual services for consideration. Eight vehicles were also seized.
Additionally, five men were warned by officers not to frequent areas that are known for sexual exploitation.
22 adult women believed to be involved in the trade were interviewed by officers, but officers found little to no degree of exploitation taking place.
Members of the CEU are working with various hotels to try and identify cases of human trafficking or exploitation that could be happening.
