Call it a coincidence of scheduling or call it the cream rising to the top, but there is a clear divide between the top teams and the rest at the World Women’s Curling Championship in Swift Current.
Chelsea Carey improved to 5-1 with a 7-5 win over Germany this morning, breaking open a tie game with steals in the 7th and 8th ends.
Scotland’s Eve Muirhead and Switzerland’s Binia Feltscher are also 5-1. Scotland breezed past Denmark 9-3 while the Swiss got a single in the 10th to beat Sweden 6-5.
Japan and Russia had the morning off but are both lingering at the top at 4-1.
Canada’s next game is against the winless Italian squad at 3 p.m.
