An update on a huge story that happened in the late fall.
A large apartment building being built at Waverley Street John and Angus Drive went up in flames early on October 21st. It was completely destroyed and nearby homes were evacuated as a precaution.
Now, police the cause is suspicious and peg the damage at $3.5 million. Fortunately, no one was hurt.
Investigators say during the same time frame as the blaze, another nearby construction site at 100 Southview Crescent was broken into.
They found evidence of drinking and an accelerant was also seized.
Officers believe the same people may be responsible for both the break-in and the fire.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
