Connor Hellebuyck made 35 saves but it wasn’t enough as the visiting Manitoba Moose lost to the Iowa Wild 4-2.
Dan DeSalvo opened the scoring just 18 seconds into the game, but the Wild scored three unanswered to take a 3-1 lead into the third.
Just 27 seconds into the final frame, Patrice Cormier scored to cut the lead to one, but that was as close as the Moose would get, allowing an empty net goal to seal the loss.
The Moose have six games remaining in their season, the next five of which are home games. That homestand starts Tuesday at 7 p.m.
