Since giving bottom seed Edmonton a chance at an upset, the Brandon Wheat Kings have turned things around.
Five different players found the net as the Wheat Kings beat the Oil Kings 5-2 Sunday night in game five for a third straight win after going down 2-0 to start the opening round playoff series.
Local product Tanner Kaspick was the first star with two assists on a night when Manitobans led the way for Brandon. Jayce Hawryluk of Roblin, Jordan Thomson from Wawanesa and Winnipegger Stelio Mattheos had a goal each.
Now leading the series 3 games to 2, the Wheat Kings return home to host Edmonton Tuesday for game 6.
If the Oil Kings win, game 7 would go Wednesday in Brandon.
