Another Liberal candidate has bitten the dust, this time over an assault that happened 14 years ago.
Kurt Berger was running for the Liberals in Elmwood, but he has now been sent packing by the party.
Berger plead guilty to assaulting his common-law wife in 2002 and was given a conditional sentence of two years of probation.
Leader Rana Bohkari says they knew about the conviction when Berger applied to be a candidate, but when Bohkari received an email from the victim containing new information about the assault, the Liberals decided to drop Berger.
The Liberals are now down to 51 out of a possible 57 candidates.
