More liquor Marts could be coming to our grocery stores if the NDP are re-elected.
The party is pledging to establish five new Liquor Mart Express outlets, they’ll also let busier LC’s stay open later. In addition, the NDP will introduce direct delivery alcohol service for socials, open a brewmaster program at Red River College and create a number of initiatives to promote craft beer.
Seine River Candidate Lise Pinkos says they will re-invest the money into addiction programs.
“Any family who has been touched by the challenges of alcohol addiction or drunk driving knows we can’t sacrifice our focus on social responsibility.”
In a statement to 680 CJOB, the Manitoba Liberal Party says they’re the only party offering Manitobans a modern liquor sales model. The NDP is selling 55 percent of its product through private retailers like beer vendors and wine stores, and now seem determined to put them out of business.
The Conservatives haven’t responded to our request for comment.
