Already well out of the playoff race the Winnipeg Jets capped off their season on a high note in a 4-3 shootout win over Los Angeles.
The Kings jumped out to a 3-0 lead before Andrew Copp, Nikolaj Ehlers and Blake Wheeler scored for the Jets to force overtime.
An extra period solved nothing and set up a shootout where Mark Scheifele scored the deciding goal on Winnipeg’s second attempt.
Ondrej Pavelec stopped 26 of the 29 shots he faced in the game and turned away all three Kings shooters in the shootout.
The Jets finish the season with 78 points and a record of 35-39-8. They also end the season on a 4-game winning streak.
