Winnipegger Chantal Van Landeghem is on her way to the 2016 Olympic Summer Games in Rio. The 22 year old graduate of the Manta Swim Club clocked a qualifying time of 53.91 seconds to finish second to Penny Oleksiak in the 100 metre Freestyle event of the Canadian Olympic Trials in Toronto Saturday Night. On Sunday she qualified in the 50-metre Freestyle with a top place time of 24.63 seconds.

And the reigning Manitoba Female Athlete of the Year will also represent Canada in the Women’s 4 x 100 metre Freestyle Relay.
