NDP Leader Greg Selinger says he takes full responsibility for calling Brian Pallister “homophobic”.
He says today, as Pallister said yesterday, he’s going to let the PC leader’s record speak for itself.
680 CJOB’s Richard Cloutier pressed Selinger multiple times about whether or not he owed him an apology.
He didn’t really give a yes or no answer.
“I would say this: I would regret any aspersions on somebody, but I do that that we have to accept that there are issues out there that need to be addressed. We all have to stand up and make sure we’re protecting people from being victimized.
Selinger called Pallister homophobic for opposing a 2013 anti-bullying law that focused on gay and lesbian students.
He was also asked what would happen if the NDP is not re-elected.
“That’s a conversation that I’m not really entertaining right now,” Selinger said. “I’m working on making sure we put the best choices available to all Manitobans and make sure that they have clear options about the best way to move Manitoba forward.”
Voters will decide for themselves a week from today.
