It’s something many people struggle with, a work-life balance.
Now, the head of the Progressive Conservatives is being a little more public about that.
Brian Pallister confirms he’s spent about 240 days in Costa Rica since becoming leader.
“I signed up for this job, but my wife and our daughters didn’t. And, so, I struggle with finding that balance. I think that some of the confusion around my statements lies there. It lies in an honest desire to protect the privacy of my wife and my daughters,” says Pallister.
Pallister says he’s always working, even when away and is always putting Manitobans first.
When asked if he’d spend as much time there if elected premier, he replied ‘probably not’.
He was in the Central American country during the flooding in 2014.
Pallister told reporters at the time he was at a family wedding.
The Liberal Party says since she became leader, Rana Bokhari has spent 18 days outside of Manitoba.
