A pair of Manitobans will square off in the women’s semifinals at the Grand Slam of Curling Players Championship in Toronto on Sunday.
Kerri Einarson came back to beat Ottawa’s Rachel Homan 7-6 after stealing two in the 8th and final end. Einarson trailed the entire match.
Einarson now has to face fellow Winnipegger Jennifer Jones, who beat Edmonton’s Val Sweeting 7-4.
The semifinals are Sunday morning at 9 o’clock.
In the men’s quarterfinals, Winnipeg’s Mike McEwen won 8-5 over the world champ from Calgary, Kevin Koe. McEwen will face Sault Ste. Marie’s Brad Jacobs, also Sunday at 9am.
