Need a new two-wheel ride? There’s hundreds you can choose from at the Winnipeg Police Service bike auction happening this weekend.
The annual auction is taking place at the East End Arena on Pandora Avenue.
There’s roughly 700 bikes up for grabs. 400 are expected to be sold on Saturday and another 300 on Sunday.
Marcia Fifer, Licensing Coordinator for Community Services with the city of Winnipeg tells 680 CJOB the bikes come from all around the city.
“Some are ridden and abandoned and some of them picked up by police. Not everyone registers their bikes, so it’s difficult to return a bike when we don’t know who the register owner is.”
For just over $6.00 you can register your ride at the auction, so if you lose it and the city finds it, they can call you.
The auction started at 9:00am Saturday.
You can also bid Sunday starting at noon. There will be a viewing beforehand from 10:00am-11:45am.
