A pair of Winnipeggers are facing charges after police found a grow-op inside a blazing building.
Fire crews doused a fire on Ashburn Street near St. Matthews Sunday morning, and once the fire was put out, a marijuana grow-op was discovered on the lower level of the home.
A 40-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman both got out without getting hurt, as did several cats.
The fire service called police, who dismantled the grow-op after a search warrant was executed. They found 292 pot plants worth roughly $327,000, $5,000 worth of equipment and 157 grams of pot, worth around $1,570.
The two people mentioned above are facing drug trafficking and possession charges.
