After a very busy week with work and events, I was almost looking forward to spending my Sunday at home on the couch. My problem? As I sat and looked around, I realized there was much to do…..all the furniture needed dusting. The carpet needed to be cleaned. There were dishes left on the dining room table–which meant I also had to clean up the kitchen. The list continued of things to do, and so I decided to do just that! Make a list ! I got pen to paper and within short order I had 14 separate chores to tackle around the home.
None of them were monumental, none required “heavy lifting” however, I just couldn’t seem to pry my butt off the couch to start any of it.
I ended up playing THE TIME GAME with myself. (have you ever done this?) First, it was “right after the next set of commercials.” I then moved on to “when I get up to fill my coffee cup” and “okay 11:00 a.m., I’ll start at 11 !” My final idea? “The next time the phone rings.”
As you can imagine, none of those time “time game-goals” worked out. I spent the majority of my Sunday in my house-coat and on the couch. I did manage to complete one task on my list though. When I went to fill up my coffee cup? I put the rest of the dishes in the dishwasher !
