Singer Prince has died at his home in suburban Minneapolis at the age of 57.
The artist’s publicist has confirmed he died this morning. Police were called to his home in Paisley Park but authorities will only confirm to the Minneapolis Star one person was found deceased in the home. Prince reportedly was sick last week with what was described as flu like symptoms.
Prince was known for such hit songs Purple Rain and When Doves Cry. He won 7 Grammy awards and 1 Oscar during his career and sold over 100 million records.
Prince last played a concert in Winnipeg December 8, 2011.
Prince is renowned for a performance at the Super Bowl in 2007. The NFL posted this tribute to the singer.
Even the famous television show The Simpson’s are mourning the death of Prince.
