A woman is behind bars after allegedly crashing a stolen vehicle into a police cruiser early Friday morning.
Winnipeg Police confirm the a car was stolen at around 12:30 a.m. near Edmonton Street and St. Mary Avenue.
Later on, the vehicle was travelling on Balmoral Street where a marked police cruiser was stopped at Ellice Avenue.
The vehicle sped up and crashed into the cruiser from behind, according to investigators.
The two officers inside the cruiser suffered minor wounds, the driver of the stolen vehicle was not hurt.
Bambi Lyn Goosehead, 24, from Bloodvein First Nation was arrested and now faces several charges including assaulting a peace officer, impaired driving and theft.
She remains in custody.
