Is this a case where you should or shouldn’t blame the messenger?
A prominent Ottawa human rights lawyer, Richard Warman, has filed a complaint against Canada Post for the distribution of a newsletter he says contains misogynist, homophobic, anti-Muslim and anti-Jewish hate propaganda. So far, the content has been called offensive – not illegal – and Canada Post was paid for its delivery services.
The newsletter, Your Ward News, claims distribution of 300,000 and a readership of one million within Toronto. The publication is delivered unwrapped, making its content visible to anyone.
What do you think, should Canada Post have delivered the “offensive” newsletter?
