It’s the devastating fire that the whole world is talking about: The raging wildfire in Northern Alberta has forced the evacuation of 80,000 Fort McMurray residents.
While it’s destroyed everything in its path, thankfully there are no injuries so far. But there have been new lives to emerge. I’ve heard of at least two “miracle” babies just born in safe haven camps. And I’ve seen people from right across Canada to countries across the pond offer their support to fleeing residents.
You too can help by donating to the Red Cross. Either text the word REDCROSS to 30333 (a confirmation text will appear before any money is accepted), or go here to help.
Our thoughts are with the residents of Northern Alberta and all of those risking their lives to help.
(We’ll have a live update from Fort McMurray at 1pm CT. Listen here.)
