The Winnipeg Jets are joining other teams and leagues making contributions to the Red Cross for Fort McMurray.
The Jets’ True North Foundation is donating $100,000 to help those displaced by the fires.
“We are encouraging fans of the Winnipeg Jets and Manitoba Moose to join us by also making a donation. Funds collected through the Foundation for this fundraising effort will be donated to the Canadian Red Cross”, said chairman Mark Chipman in a media release.
This all comes on a day when the Edmonton Eskimos led an initiative for all 9 Canadian Football League Teams, including the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, to make a combined donation of 50 thousand dollars to the Red Cross in support of the relief fund for fire ravaged Fort McMurray.
