A local trucking company is heading to Alberta with a trailer full of supplies for those displaced by the wildfires in Fort McMurray.
RBP Trucking is collecting items for evacuees at Inkster and Brookside until 9:00 p.m. Saturday.
They’re accepting everything from water to baby supplies and dog food.
Organizer Brittany Dmyterko tells 680 CJOB they saw what was happening and knew they had to help out.
“I just can’t believe that everybody lost everything. I just had a baby two months ago, so now that i’m a mother I just think about all the kids. As a parents I couldn’t imagine losing everything.”
Kish Modha is one many people who dropped off items on Saturday.
He says he was a flood victim and knows how it feels to go through something like this.
“It’s a huge problem. It affects every one of us. We had the same thing when we had the floods here. Everybody came to help us out, so it’s our time to help somebody else.”
If you want to donate, the trailer will be parked at the Peterbilt Manitoba lot.
The truck will make its way to Edmonton, where they’ll meet with Red Cross organizers on Sunday and drop-off the donated good.
