Another big name with the Winnipeg Police Service is retiring.
Deputy Chief Dave Thorne is stepping down after 35 years with the service.
Thorne has been a member of the force since 1981 and Deputy Chief since November 2013.
His career spanned a number of units, and according to a release the part of his career he is most proud of is that his last 15 years of service has been connected to Uniform Operations.
Thorne’s retirement comes just months after Police Chief Devon Clunis announced he too will be retiring.
