A Winnipeg man is behind bars for making and using counterfeit money.
Over the last couple of months, police received unusually high reports of counterfeit money being used at local businesses.
They put out a public advisory to make sure people kept an eye out for fake bills.
Police eventually identified a suspect and came into contact with him for an unrelated reason Friday.
They arrested the 28-year-old and recovered nearly $1,800 worth of fake Canadian currency.
