A man from the tiny hamlet of Wanless, Manitoba is now a millionaire.
Pat Tavener took home $1-million on the April 27 Lotto 6/49 guaranteed prize draw.
“I won $10 on a ticket from a few weeks ago, and then I won $5,” Tavener said in a release. “Then I won a free play.”
It was on this free play that Tavener took home the cool million.
“I probably looked over the numbers 46 times before I called to confirm it,” Tavener explained. “My mind is blank right now. It still just feels like a dream. I want to take my time digesting this wonderful event.”
He hasn’t made any plans for the winnings yet and says he has been playing Lotto 6/49 since 1982.
Tavener bought his ticket at We Ste General Store in Wanless, which is about 40 km north of The Pas.
