Fox Lake Cree Nation has ended a blockade of highway 290 that cut off access to three Manitoba Hydro sites.
Protesters started blocking the road with heavy machinery due to claims that hydro workers destroyed a sacred ceremonial site.
Manitoba Hydro officials met with Fox Lake Elders to discuss the issue on Friday. They released a statement Saturday night saying the road is back open.
The blockade did not affect operations at the three Hydro locations and CEO Kelvin Shepherd says they are concerned about the damage to the sacred site.
