If you object to vaccinating your child, you’ll have to take a class – if you are an Ontario resident.
This in light of a rash of anti-vaxx parents pushing against immunizations across the country – and a recent case in Alberta where a couple is facing jail time after their unvaccinated child died of meningitis.
So the Ontario government has tabled new legislation that would force those who refuse to vaccinate their kids to take a science class first.
Ontario law says parents can be fined up to $1000 if they don’t immunize their kids. An exemption can be granted however, if they file “a statement of conscience or religious belief with the proper medical officer of health.”
Now, what do you think: Would you like to see legislation passed in Manitoba that would force those against vaccinations to educate themselves further in order to get an exemption? Taking your calls and texts after 1pm: 204.780.6868.
