Manitoba’s police watchdog is investigating a crash that happened in the Burrows area early Monday morning.
It happened at around 2:45 a.m. at Redwood Avenue and McPhillips Street.
Winnipeg Police were in pursuit of a car when it struck another vehicle on the passenger side. The Independent Investigation Unit say the drive of the suspect vehicle then fled on foot.
Two adults in the second vehicle and four youths in the suspect vehicle were all transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Roads in the area were shut down for most of the morning during the investigation, but have since reopened.
The IIU was notified and they have now assumed responsibility for the investigation.
The IIU investigates all serious incidents involving police officers in Manitoba, whether occurring on or off duty.
